It was the five impressive towers in the Belvedere quarter that Renzo Piano wanted to see with his own eyes:
The PARKAPARTMENTS AMBELVEDERE and the Hotel Andaz Vienna am Belvedere are the 1st project in Austria from the mind of the Pritzker Prize winner and his team of architects – Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW). As with all of the RPBW’s exceptional projects, the “master of construction technology” took a personal and critical look at its execution.
The tour had the architect visiting both towers of the Hotel Andaz Vienna am Belvedere, which belongs to the Hyatt Group, and the three residential towers with its numerous smart facilities such as the gym, Paketbox stations, carsharing etc.
During a stop in the attractively designed communal garden, Renzo Piano and architect Thorsten Sahlmann, who was responsible for the project management in Vienna on the part of RPBW, met up with SIGNA CEO Christoph Stadlhuber. Next, the SIGNA consulting team – Walter Melounek, Weronika Pilus and Maximilian Henn – were able to meet Renzo Piano and exchange a few thoughts that had occupied them since the start of construction on the project.
The visit was concluded with a visit to the furnished showcase apartment on the 11th floor before the satisfied team travelled back to Paris. The architects of Renzo Piano Building Workshop were delighted – as were we – about an architecturally impressive building ensemble in the middle of Vienna.
